Heather Ellis sent this link to an ABC News item on motorcycle & scooter thefts in Melbourne.
The Independent Riders Group wants secure motorcycle & scooter parking with lockers, cheap or free in all commercial car parks.
They do it for bicycle riders.
The City of Melbourne has a secure off-street motorcycle & scooter parking area under the City Square. It costs just a dollar a time. No lockers yet but we keep pushing for that. The entrance is on your right in Flinders Lane just up from Swanston Street. Have a look. Good job CoM.
Now we need commercial parking operators and councils to be compelled by building regulations to provide secure parking and lockers for commuters & visitors, in all off-street parking and "park & ride" facilities.
