HIT FROM BEHIND

ONE OF THE STRONGEST ARGUMENTS FOR TRAFFIC FILTERING IS IT REDUCES THE RISK OF BEING HIT FROM BEHIND.

C 2006 Swann Insurance did a national survey of bike insurance claims. They found that in 40% of claims the rider was hit from behind.

Have a look at this.

"AGAIN, a vehicle driver has failed to concentrate, slow to speed limit, and leave sufficient distance between his vehicle and traffic in front; resulting in rear-ending a Honda Goldwing with two up rider multiple injuries, pillion not so bad.
Thanks Nat Conroy for the tip off

"This Dash cam is attached to a Honda Goldwing motorbike near the Kempsey bypass. They had come to a stop at a roundabout and hit from behind by a 4WD ute pushing them into the bike in front.

Both were thrown from the bike. Dad has multiple breaks. 3 broken vertebrae, 4 breaks in the pelvis and his right leg was smashed. Mum blacked out on impact and landed soft (not flexed) and only has bruising. Thanks to Christopher Schloithe.

We here at DCOA wish them a speedy recovery."
