TEXT NOW.

TEXTING IS QUICK & EASY. MAKE THE EFFORT TODAY.
WE NEED THE AIR TIME WITH A VICTORIAN ELECTION IN 7 WEEKS.
Last week on the DRIVE program on ABC Radio 774 in Melbourne, presenter Rafael Epstien responded to a caller who made the point that women with face coverings were allowed in banks and other places but riders had to remove their hats.
Epstien indicated that he understood the banks ban since criminals wearing helmets did so many bank robberies. It's a rubbish statistic.
If you want to comment on this, or any other motorbike issue, please text DRIVE on 0437 774 774.
Also on ABC Radio 774 is the MORNINGS program hosted by Jon Faine. Faine is an X motorcyclist and used to give riders a fair go on his show. Lately, when there is a discussion on transport in this state we seem to hear from government authorities, public transport users and bicyclists but rarely from motorcycle & scooter riders.
Please send a text to MORNINGS on 0437 774 774.
Texting is easy and quick. Not all will get readout on air but they do make a difference.

Re drive 3 Oct 14.  I am sick of the double standards applied to motorcyclist wearing a helmet into service stations. Veils, burqa's, sunglasses & caps can be worn, but if I wear my helmet I am often refused service.  The person behind the counter is clearly not intimidated as I have been forcefully told to remove my helmet and there is no law compelling me to do so.  I wear ear plugs that typically get dislodged and are fiddly to re-insert and the helmet provides a level protection from fuel blow back from my tank (different design than a car).  When was the last time a petrol station was robbed by a bike rider brandishing a credit card? This craziness needs to stop.
