  4. BUT, we did change things in this state by having the numbers. Political muscle. We got rid of the 80 kph pillion speed limit. We got rid of front number plates. We helped introduce rider training. We won footpath parking in Victoria. We kept CPT for bikes, below the rate for cars for decades. We stopped lights-on laws. And more. Around the end of the 1990s rider apathy grew allowing malignant conservatives to take over MRAs and set up "strategic planning committees" which destroyed what was left of the tough, professional lobby groups and replaced them with riders with "public service" mentalities. The old ways were for dinosaurs. Today we have lost most of what we won in the 1970s and '80s and our apathy is in large part to blame. Go see your MP. It's your riding future. www.parliament.vic.gov.au/members . Use whatever you like off this blog. Send me an email and I'll send you the "abolish the TAC tax" media releases showing Napthine, Mulder, the Parliamentary Inquiry, the VACC, the IRG, the Victorian Scooter riders Association and the Freedom Riders ALL saying abolish the TAC antibike tax (safety levy).
